So Microsoft has bought Skype for $8.5 billion dollars instantly making it a leader in online calling and video calling. On a side note, this is the biggest deal Microsoft has done in 36 years. What do you think is in store for the Skype community?
I think I heard that it's going to start being available for 360 games - probably Microsoft's Windows games too. I'm guessing that'll grow the community pretty significantly.
Of course, with Microsoft's stake in Facebook, who knows how long before everybody on Facebook is using a watered-down version of Skype to chat.
Uh-oh, will this monopolization give Microsoft an advantage over FaceTime?

I would like to see it integrated into Live, which I'm sure they already have plans for.
ReplyDeleteGreat business move!
